I was saddend to hear that big band jazz great Maynard Ferguson
has passed away. Maynard's "Live at Jimmy's" was a staple of my
formative highschool listening years. Maynard defined the
'trumpet-hero' genre with his incredible power and range.
Maynard's jazz/rock fusion style opened the door to jazz for many like
myself who grew up listening to rock. He will be missed.
