The Amen Break
One of the most frequently used music samples of all time is the 'amen break' - a 5 second snippet of a drum break performed by Gregory Cylvester Coleman in 1969. The wikipedia entry
has an excellent history of the amen break and use - but to really get a
feel for the amen break it is best to listen to how it is used.
